As your elected Council Member, I work for YOU, the residents of District 14!
Since I was elected in 2021, my office has been hard at work bringing jobs and investment to our district, securing additional funding for our public schools and community spaces, and providing assistance to those in need. If elected for another term, I will continue fighting every day for District 14 – that’s a promise!
Pierina’s agenda is all about lifting up the resilience of our community.
Housing Justice & Affordability
Pierina is leading the charge to keep our neighbors housed and build a more affordable Bronx. Pierina delivered on:
- Fought and won critical tenant protections and housing voucher expansions— overriding the Mayor’s veto to provide more vouchers.
- Secured $5 billion for new accessible and affordable housing, repairs, and infrastructure across NYC.
- Cracked down on bad landlords and protected rent-stabilized tenants.
Community Safety
Pierina believes in safety and justice for all Bronx residents. Pierina delivered on:
- Funded local NYPD-Community Councils and supported the expansion of community-based Cure Violence programs.
- Invested in jobs and youth programs that prevent violence before it starts.
- Worked with LGBTQIA+ leaders to pass groundbreaking legislation to expand STI testing access in NYC schools and secured $2 million to make it happen—ensuring all NYers have the information and resources to protect their health and futures.
Youth & Education
Pierina is building a future where every Bronx kid has access to opportunity. Pierina delivered on:
- Expanded after-school and enrichment programs to every public school in the district.
- Grew the Summer Youth Employment Program and hosted nearly 100 student interns.
- Championed legislation to move NYC toward universal child care.
Jobs & Community Investment
She’s creating pathways to good-paying jobs and revitalizing our neighborhoods. Pierina delivered on:
- Delivered $220 million for a community-led transformation of the Kingsbridge Armory.
- Secured $20 million for a new community center at 183rd & Walton.
- Helped small businesses survive and thrive with loan and grant access, permitting reform, and street vending fairness.
